Seattle Restaurants
It seems Seattle can never be contented with having one name. As such, it has to be called the "Emerald City", the "Gateway to Alaska", the "Queen City", the "Big Barista", the "Jet City" and of course the "Rain City". And now, with its recent forays on gastronomy it might yet be adding another name to its already generous repertoire of nicknames. How about "Bite of Seattle City"? Nah, too lame.
Anyway, I found out about this since I've notice more than a handful of high excellence diners and Seattle restaurants have settled in. And those already there by the turn of the decade are shedding its shabby kitchens to stay true of the cuisine excellence that's gripping the Seattle restaurants. Have you tried them lately? You should since there might be no other way to taste a Mandoo (kimchi with meat dumplings) or a SoonDooBoo Chige (spicy seafood tofu stew) without actually setting foot on Korea. Here's my red hot list of the most scrumptious Seattle restaurants.
35th Street Bistro 709 N 35th Seattle Fremont Phone: 206-547-9850 Opens from 11am to 11pm. Serves lunch until 2:30pm and dinner as early as 5:30pm
Seattle frequenters know about the "Bistro" since it is among the most distinguished diners on the Fremont area. Mixed theme furniture, live in-room plants, and a bar complete the cool ambiance of the place. What sets the Bistro apart from other establishment is that they serve dishes using their own organic grown food. 35th Street Bistro is a European restaurant.
Old Village Korean Restaurant 15200-D Aurora Ave N (Shoreline), Seattle Phone: 365-6679 Opens daily from 11am - 10pm
With laidback style of wooden furniture and a roadside location, it seems nothing is fancy about Old Village. But wait till you taste their Mandoo and Seafood Stew (called SoonDooBoo Chige on the upper paragraphs), and you'll have an inkling how Koreans eat their stuff. Some of the Korean tastes may be strange to the American tongue so ask first what the best sellers to American customers are.
Yarrow Bay Grill 1270 Carillon Pt., Kirkland Phone: 425-889-9052 Opens 5:00pm to 10pm
Americans cannot give up on steak. They cannot live without it, and they will do anything to have it. In Seattle things are much the same though the level of quality is a notch higher thanks to the chefs at Yarrow Bay Grill. That's what made the Yarrow Bay Grill an exceptional winner for all-American steak on the Eastside. Try their Grilled Beef Tenderloin sometime!
Bouchee Café 3510 Fremont Ave N, Seattle Fremont Phone: 206-632-5220
At one point in my life I decided that bohemians came from France. Why, because Frenchmen loves to talk. Maybe it's about the accent? Bouchee Café is about the French passion of talking combined with the excellence of the Seattle restaurants. In fact, it is self-described as a place for "food, cocktails and conversation". Having some theories on quantum energy? Talk it out over at Bouchee Café with a plate of Cheesetastic Panini.
